Meet JGPR Academy Instructor: Patrick McQuillian, Ph.D.

Biography

Patrick McQuillan, Ph.D. began his career in education as a social studies teacher and earned a master’s degree in cultural anthropology at Wesleyan University. After completing his doctorate studies at Brown University — where he worked closely with the Coalition of Essential Schools, a national school reform initiative directed by Ted Sizer — he joined the School of Education at the University of Colorado and spent considerable time working in Denver public schools. He later transitioned to the School of Education & Human Development at Boston College. There, he spent 22 years teaching and contributing to leadership development initiatives, including the Lynch Leadership Academy (LLA), a program dedicated to supporting early-career school principals.
