Overview
As a contractor for the CIA and Department of Homeland Security, Matt Kaplowitz is an expert that specializes in internet and social media operations security. As social media continues to consume the attention of adults and children alike, knowing how to be safe and smart while using the internet is paramount. Taught by Kaplowitz, JGPR Academy’s Digital Security and Social Media Safety workshop provides tools and strategies to stay safe while using the internet to three very important audiences: Students, Staff, and Parents.
Parents and teachers agree that student safety is their top priority. Although social media has made this herculean task more difficult than ever before, this course will provide participants with the tools and strategies necessary to stay safe while using the internet.
This course will examine different types of cyber attacks, the importance of safe messaging, how different social media platforms can be harmful to its users and the consequences of digital permanence. Those who take this course will walk away with practical solutions to protect themselves from cyber attacks, as well as tried and true strategies regarding how they can stay vigilant when using technology.
